Victorian State Government Policy requires logging in State Forest to be ‘sawlog driven’. Both the State and Federal Governments acknowledge that the public is opposed to woodchip driven logging operations in publicly owned State Forest. Such public opinion has resulted in nearly all Victorian State Government policy documents, strategy plans and forest management plans being written with a directive that logging in State Forest must be directed towards the production and supply of sawlogs.
