Residual logs purchased by the woodchip industry provide about 60% of all Departmental logging revenue from the Otways.A recent Freedom of Information(FOI) request has confirmed logging in
the Otways is woodchip driven. The FOI data shows that during the 1999/2000
logging season, total revenue for logs from the Otways was $7,090,652.
This was made up of sawlog revenue ($2,686,186 or 38%) and woodchip revenue
