- The 'logging only' scenario
evaluated by SKM, and provided by the DNRE, is the rate of logging in
the West Barwon catchment planned per decade to the year 2100 under
the RFA
- It is alarming to note the
huge increase in logging in the West Barwon planned for this decade
- a 300% increase over the last three decades of the 1990’s.
- Within ten years approximately,
another 500 hectares (5 sq km) of the West Barwon will have been logged.
This represents 25% of the logging that will occur in the next 100 years
