Government support for forest based Tourism in the Otway forest


Nature Based Tourism Report

On Sunday 5th November 2000, the Government launched a new report titled 'Nature Based Tourism, Directions and opportunities 2000-2003' which includes plans for forest-based tourism in the Otway Native Forests.

Opportunity 66 on page 31 states "Investigate improve visitor access to cool temperate rainforest and water falls on the Great Ocean Road".

The plan, which was launched by the Minister for Major Projects and Tourism, John Pandazopoulos recognises the need to investigate and improve visitor access to forest attractions such as Cool Temperate Rainforest and Waterfalls in the Otway Hinterland.
